Size Guide
šŸ’šĀ Difficulty:Ā Intermediate-Advance
šŸŖ“ Size:Ā Ā Medium to Large over time
šŸŒøĀ Blooms:Ā Some cultivar areĀ found to be fragrant with rose-like smell, cannot confirm.Ā  Different cultivar canĀ variation inĀ size, colour saturation and count of blooms.
šŸŒ±Ā Grown by:Ā x sib, some variation
šŸ§¬Ā Genetics:Ā  subg-phalaenopsis, low altitudeĀ grower, prefers hot, fast wet to dry (< 7 days)
šŸ’”Ā Note: Phal. sanderiana blooms are very sensitive to shipping and transit, will not ship well in spike.

šŸŒ”Ā Temp:Ā Intermediate-Warm toĀ (preferably)Ā Warm/HotĀ (20-32Ā°C day - 16-24Ā°C night) 4-6Ā°C difference day/night. Prefers warm 24Ā°C+ -Ā warm to hot.Ā  TemperatureĀ swingĀ of 5Ā°C+/- usually inducesĀ infloresenceĀ (flowering)

šŸ’§Ā Water:Ā Ā Heavy wet to completeĀ dryout cycles.Ā Hard dry required or roots may rot. When roots are abundance, new roots can stay slightly moist. Reverse Osmosis / Distilled or Rain water is best.Ā DO NOT use ice cubes.

ā˜ļøHumidity:Ā 40%+minĀ (50-90% optimal)

šŸ’”Ā Light:Ā Bright indirectĀ (East Morning or Sunset Light direct, Mid-summer day indirect) year round.Ā  Artificial supplementary light recommended in winter or low light homes. 10-12 hour light periodĀ to induce continuous flowering.Ā

šŸŒ°Media:Ā Our preference is top 3" Sphagnum Moss & Leca bottom combo. Moss/Bark mix also works, prefer slightly higher water retentive media than regular Phalaenopsis as they like to stay slightly moist.

šŸ§Ŗ:Ā Fertilize:Ā When it's actively growing in vegetative stage -Ā typically when a top leaf emerges and growing. We recommendĀ MSUĀ &Ā MarphyllĀ rotation in low dosage every other watering and allow water flushing in between.Ā

Culture and Care Information

*Cultural and care information is basedĀ on averageĀ Phalaenopsis care, use it as guide and should be adapted to suit your environment. Understand if your hybrid has polychilos (summer phal) genetics and adjust as needed.

šŸŒ”Ā Temp: Intermediate-Warm toĀ Warm 18-25Ā°C day - 16-22Ā°C night with 4-6Ā°C difference day/night.Ā  Temperature dip to 16-18Ā°C induces spike (flowering)

šŸ’§Ā Water: Wet to complete dryout cycles. Hard dry required or roots may rot. Fill room temp. water in outer container and let the pot soak for 30min to up to 24 hours. Remove any excess water, repeat when dry.

When roots are abundance, new roots grown into water can stay slightly moist. Reverse Osmosis / Distilled or Rain water is best. Tap water is dependant on water quality in your area. DO NOT use ice cubes.

ā˜ļøHumidity:Ā 40%-60% recommended, but can go down to 25% if watering correctly. If humidity is an issue, leave bit of water in saucer under the orchid to allow evaporation. Do not let moss touch the water reservoir otherwise media cannot dry. Use Leca as a drainage barrier if needed.

šŸ’”Ā Light:Ā Bright indirect (East Morning or Sunset Light direct, Mid-summer day indirect) year round.Ā  Artificial supplementary light recommended in winter or low light homes. 10-12 hour or increasing light period help induce flowering

šŸŒ°Media: Our preference is top 3" Sphagnum Moss & Leca bottom combo. Our Phalaenopsis mix (Bark/Perlite/Charcoal), and option to sprinkle in or top layer moss. Well draining pots helps make sure it is able to dryout. Media choice should be dependant on your watering style, preference and frequency.

šŸ§Ŗ:Ā Fertilize:Ā When it's actively growing in vegetative stage -Ā typically when a top leaf emerges and growing. We recommend MSUĀ &Ā MarphyllĀ rotation in low dosage every other watering and allow water flushing in between.Ā
