Lyc. tricolor 'Rick' x Lyc. Suave 'Perfect Pixie'

Some Lycastes are Deciduous - Requires culture adjustments during dormancy periods. Dependant on the cross and inherited genetics and will need experience to adjust accordingly.

*Cultural and care information based on average Lycaste care from American Orchid Society, use it as guide and should be adapted to suit your environment

💚Difficulty: Beginner/Intermediate (Deciduous)
🌱Size: Medium, bulbs grow indefinitely (small bulbs, large leaves which drop in the winter)
🌸 Blooms: Likely to be fragrant, varies
🌱 Grown by: x New hybrid
🧬 Genetics: Cymbidieae > Maxillariinae > Lycaste

🌡 Temp: Warm  to cool  (☀️20-28°C/🌑15-20°C), wider tolerable range during dormancy but requires 5-8°C difference day to night
💧 Water:   Keep moist especially during growth season, allow drainage water cycling for fresh water. Semi-hydro set up works well but ensure fresh water. Reduce and allow dry out during dormancy. Grows similar to Catasetinae.
☁️Humidity: 30%+ low humidity tolerable if substrate is moist
💡 Light: Bright indirect to Medium direct (South-East Morning Light), avoid direct sun at the strongest 3 hours during summer. Maximize direct light during 🇨🇦 winter if it's growing.
🌰 Media: Flexible - Sphagnum moss,  fir bark and perlite (3:1) is a common, fast-draining mix. Repot just prior to new growth starting.
