syn. Malaxis commelinifolium

Found in western Java and Borneo on mossy forests floors, limestone cliffs in lower and hill forests at elevations of sea-level to 1500 meters.

Malaxis is a large genus of terrestrial orchids. Although not part of the major "Jewel" orchid subtribus, some include Malaxis calophylla as a jewel orchid for it's unique golden green foliage. It's growing habitat is fairly similar to many of the jewels, thus can be grouped together in a terrarium.

Note: Malaxis are deciduous. Will turn into bulb and require cool dry winter rest
