What in the World is a Dendrobium jydrii?
Dendrobium jydrii is a newly discovered species in 2919! With its frosted white and intricate purple inner lip patterns, it's like Mother Nature decided to show off her artistic skills. This particular orchid is native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia, where it thrives in the warm and humid climate. But don't worry, you don't have to book a ticket to the tropics to enjoy its beauty. You can grow it right in your own home just like us!
Our Journey to Flowering Success
The Dendrobium jydrii is not particularly rare, but it's not on everyones spotlight. Once we brought our precious Dendrobium jydrii home, and it was not a huge challenge. It's flexible with the amount of light, humidity, and care to thrive. And after months of patience, love, and a little bit of luck, it happened – our Dendrobium jydrii bloomed in all its glory! With an un-intentional move from our home to our retail shop, the plant was placed into an even warmer and bright spot triggering multi floral bloom shows up to 4 times a year!
The Sweet Taste of Victory
When we kept seeing those petals unfurling, we couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment. It was like winning the lottery, but instead of money, we won the admiration of fellow orchid enthusiasts. We proudly displayed our Dendrobium jydrii, and it became the star of the show. It won plant of the month at our local orchid society and it was nominated for a quality award and also a culture award. The cultivar was named after our late Bijon Fris dog Melo.
So, there you have it – our journey as proud owners of a Dendrobium jydrii. The jydrii is fairly easy to bloom and you can have one in your home!.
