Phal javanica is a species native to Indonesia, an epiphyte found growing in canopy of trees. Blooms spikes are long, blooms are 5-6cm. The dark variation has a much deep pink, reddish or burgundy colour to the unique patterning in the petals. The colouring sometimes vary depending on the cultivar and growing conditions.
To mimic the aerial epiphytic environment, use bark with layered moss it's drying out too fast. Allow almost full dryout before watering.
Note: Seedlings - keep at higher humidity, preferably in a small semi-enclosed environment but allow air circulation.
