Phaius tankervilleae originates in the tropical and subtropical Asia, Pacific Islands, Australia and Africa, often in open grassy damp areas, or deciduous forest that shed leaves in the winter. Fragrant blooms can last close to 3 weeks, usually 2-3" in size. Colour may vary from reddish purple to yellowish brown, with an accented lip.
