This is the unusual yellow colour dwarf form of the species.
Also called the Coconut Orchid, the Maxillaria tenuifolia is native to Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador and Nicaragua. They grow in rainforests, tropical forests, ravines with warm humid temperate at low altitude to approximately 1000m.
