Maxillaria pseudorecheiheimiana is found in the wet montane forest of Ecuador and Colombia. They have beautiful olive green foliage with a nice splattering white silver pattern found in no other of its kind.

Maxillaria, epiphytes with a sympodial growth habit, is one of the largest genera of New World orchids. The generic name is derived from the Latin maxilla (jawbone) since the lip and column resemble the jaws of insects. -AOS

"There is also a related species that is more frequently encountered in collections that is named Maxillaria pseudoreichenheimiana with smaller flowers and can be distinguised by the fact that the spots on M pseudoreichenheimiana can be scratched off the surface of the leaf while those of this species do not scrape off."
