This orchid is famous for its oversized fan, often being referred to as the “fan shaped Aerides”. The fuchsia and white lip demand attention as soon as you see it! The only thing that could top it off is an amazing honey scent often reported during the midday. This is a winter and spring season blooming orchid that is best grown in baskets or mounted.

First described in 1925 this midsize to large growing orchid can be found growing at the forest's edge in Thailand, Myanmar and Yunnan China at 300-1700 meters above sea level.
